Borger EMS serves approximately 900 square miles in Hutchinson County and the City of Borger. This service is staffed 24 hours a day, seven days a week by Paramedics, EMT’s, Intermediates and EMT-Basics. Borger EMS has three ambulances, two of which are staff 24/7 for all 9-1-1 calls or transports. There is always one ambulance fully staffed for city coverage even if another is out on call or transfer. Borger EMS is there when you need them, no matter the time of day or night, with Advanced Life Support and MICU capabilities.
Clinical Case Management: 467-5857
Clinical Case Management offers Swing Bed (Skilled Nursing Care) when patients are not able to go home with home health care or don’t want to go to a long-term healthcare facility (nursing home). Swing Bed is the perfect alternative! Since GPCH is a rural hospital, we can offer our patients a skilled nursing bed or “swing bed” as a Medicare-funded program. To qualify, a patient must need skilled services such as nursing, physical, occupational or respiratory therapy.

Our ER is a Level IV Trauma Facility with four fully equipped rooms. The ER is staffed 24 hours a day, seven days a week by experienced physicians, registered nurses and paramedics with specialized training in trauma and advanced cardiac life support. Consultants include physicians from the following disciplines: family medicine, internal medicine, OB/GYN, general surgery, orthopedic surgery, hand surgery, laparoscopic surgery, pediatrics, anesthesia and emergency medicine.
Engineering Department: 467-5601
The Engineering Department serves the maintenance needs of GPCH and its clinics in accordance with local, State and national codes.
The Engineering Department works closely with the Environment of Care Patient Safety Committee to ensure that the highest standards of safety are in place every day. Engineering assists the GPCH Disaster Team in setting up the decontamination equipment, providing crowd control and making sure the facility is able to continue providing excellent care for the citizens of our community if any type of disaster should occur.
In the event of a disaster, the Decontamination equipment is set up by the Engineering Department and operated by the Emergency Department and Infection Control Department.

What is Health Information and Medical Records? Health Information is the lifeblood of the health care delivery system. GPCH Medical Records houses health information for patient treatment. Physicians, nurses and other health care providers require information for treating a patient. The medical record serves as a communication link among caregivers. Documentation in the Medical Records also serves to protect the legal interests of the patient, health care provider and health care facility.
The Health Information Department specializes in managing your health information and medical record. This department is committed to the timely and accurate collection of health information and its storage, retention and disclosure. GPCH Medical Records ensures that your information is kept private, secure and in accordance with Federal and State laws.

Medical/Surgical Unit and Intensive Care Unit: 467-5850
The fifteen-bed inpatient Medical/Surgical Unit at GPCH is open for inpatient admitting by physicians. Inpatients who have illnesses requiring diagnostic testing and observation, treatment and isolation of infectious diseases, or persons who have suffered injury may be admitted to the Medical/Surgical Unit. Licensed, Registered and Vocational Nurses as well as Certified Nurses’ Aides/Unit Clerks staff the Medical/Surgical Unit.
GPCH has a four-bed Intensive Care Unit which provides lifesaving interventions for chronically ill patients who require a higher level of care than is provided on the Medical/Surgical floor. The ICU is staffed 24 hours a day with specially trained Registered Nurses with Advanced Cardiac Life Support training. The staff works closely with physicians to ensure safe and adequate care of patients.

The GPCH Pharmacy Department dispenses medications for patients only while they are in the hospital. The Pharmacy is monitored by a registered pharmacist and technically trained staff are responsible for checking all medications for proper use of the medication, drug reactions and allergies. The Pharmacy Department maintains all the floor stock and emergency stock of medications.
